Fixing Your Earphone Wires

For the music lover, the earphone can be said as the important device. It is because the earphone which is connected to the mp3 player, iPod, or the mobile phone allows the user to listen the music in private. The earphone is also effective to help the users to listen the music even in the public places.

It is not easy to find the earphone that fills your needs. The earphone itself sometimes comes in set with your mp3, iPod, or even your mobile phone. It will be difficult if your favorite earphone is broken. However, before you discard it, it is better for you to consider fixing it first.

If you want to fix your earphone, you will need the tools like cutter, wire cutters, scissors, heat shrink tubing, the pliers, the electrical tape, and the soldering iron.

The first thing you should do is scraping the plastic cover in the area where the wire is damaged. Do this step using the cutter. After you do this, you can separate the wires. You need to trim off the fibers inside the wires. It is better for you to do this using the scissors. If you find any crimps, use the pliers to straighten it.

The next thing you should do is twisting the wires with the same color together. You should twist it in the clockwise direction. Flat the wires and attach them with the head shrink tubing or the electrical tape.

While you do the step above, do not forget to heat the soldering iron. If you think the solder is hot enough, you can heat the heat shrink tubing. Do not forget to hold it using the pliers. Never touch any object where you will use the soldering iron with your bare hands.

The heat from the iron will seal your earphone wires more permanent. After you heat the shrink tubing, let it cool down. You can try the earphone you have repaired when you feel it is cool enough.
